Privacy Policy
Effective Date: April 16, 2025 Last Updated: August 11, 2025
Welcome to Clear Address! This Privacy Policy explains how Rodrigo de Avila ("we," "us," or "our"), the provider of the Clear Address email validation service ("Service"), collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use our Service.
We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy outlines our practices concerning the limited information processed through the Service. By using Clear Address, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1. Information We Collect
Due to the nature of the Service, the information we collect is minimal and directly related to the function performed:
- Submitted Email Address: The only piece of personal information you actively provide to the Service is the email address you wish to validate.
- Derived Information: During the validation process, we derive related information, specifically the domain part of the Submitted Email Address and the resulting validity status (e.g., valid, invalid, disposable).
We do not collect other personal information such as your name, physical address, phone number, or IP address for the purpose of storing it in relation to the validation result (standard server logs may temporarily capture IP addresses for security and operational purposes, but this is not linked to the Submitted Email Address in our primary data handling described here). We do not request account creation.
2. How We Use Information
We use the collected information solely for the following purposes:
- To Provide the Service: To perform the validation checks requested on the Submitted Email Address (syntax, domain, MX records, disposable status).
- To Operate and Maintain the Service: Ensuring the Service functions correctly and securely.
The information is processed in real-time and discarded immediately after the validation is complete. No Submitted Email Address or its result is stored or used for any other purpose.
3. Legal Basis for Processing (LGPD)
Our legal basis for processing the Submitted Email Address and derived information is our Legitimate Interest (Art. 7, IX of LGPD) in:
- Operating and providing the requested email validation Service effectively.
- Ensuring the security and operational integrity of the Service.
We believe this processing is necessary for the purposes described above and that our legitimate interests are not overridden by your data protection interests or fundamental rights and freedoms, especially given the minimal nature of the data, the lack of storage, and the direct benefit of receiving the validation result.
4. Data Storage and Retention
We do not store or retain any information submitted to the Service. The Submitted Email Address and any derived information (such as the validity status) are processed in real-time and immediately discarded after the validation result is provided to you. No data is written to disk or held in memory post-request.
5. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise share your Submitted Email Address or the derived validation results with third parties for their marketing purposes.
We may disclose information only in the following limited circumstances:
- As Required by Law: If required to do so by law, regulation, or legal process (such as a court order or subpoena).
- To Protect Rights and Safety: To protect the rights, property, or safety of Clear Address, our users, or the public, as required or permitted by law.
The validation process itself involves interacting with public DNS servers, but this does not involve sharing the Submitted Email Address with third parties in a way that identifies you.
6. Data Security
We implement reasonable technical and administrative security measures designed to protect the information we process from loss, misuse, and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These measures include secure protocols and access controls. However, please be aware that no security measures are perfect or impenetrable, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information during transmission.
7. Your Data Protection Rights (LGPD)
If you are located in Brazil, the LGPD grants you certain rights regarding your personal data. Subject to legal limitations, you may have the right to:
- Confirm the existence of processing of your data.
- Access your data.
- Correct incomplete, inaccurate, or out-of-date data.
- Anonymize, block, or delete unnecessary or excessive data or data processed in non-compliance with the LGPD.
- Request the deletion of your personal data processed with consent (not applicable here as we rely on Legitimate Interest) or when it's no longer needed for the purpose it was collected.
- Obtain information about the possibility of not providing consent and the consequences thereof (not applicable as consent is not the primary basis).
- Revoke consent (not applicable as consent is not the primary basis).
As we do not store your personal data after processing, rights such as access, correction, and deletion of stored data are not applicable, as there is no data to manage. We can, however, confirm that no data is being stored. To exercise your right to confirm the processing of your data, please contact us using the details provided below.
8. International Data Transfers
The Service is operated from Brazil. While we primarily process data within Brazil, the technical infrastructure (like servers or DNS resolution) might involve processing in other countries. Where this occurs, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place consistent with this Privacy Policy.
9. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Currently, we do not use cookies or similar tracking technologies for the core email validation functionality of the Service accessible via its primary interface or API. If the website hosting the tool uses essential cookies for basic site functionality (like session management), these are not used for tracking users across sites or for advertising.
10. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 13 (or a higher age threshold if applicable in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child, we will take steps to delete such information promptly.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on the Clear Address website and updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.
12. Contact Information
If you have any questions, concerns, or requests regarding this Privacy Policy or our data practices, please contact the Data Controller:
